The National Central Library of Taiwan has a collection of more than 160,000 volumes of original Japanese books which were originally stored in the Governor’s Office of the Japanese Government during the Japanese Governing Period and the Southern Archives. The library also holds a collection of 60.000 volumes from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The former collection has been micro-filmed and parts of the current collection of out of print Japanese books as well as newspapers (including: Japanese newspapers, newspapers before and after the government moved to Taiwan, Hong Kong newspapers, etc.) have been digitized and indexed. In this database you can search for and view images from the book or document part of the collection. For newspapers are found in separate database “Image System for Periodicals of Japanese Ruled Period”.
